The back of a Chevrolet truck

The Chevy Silverado is legendary for its hardworking capabilities. For those who require maximum hauling and towing capacity, the 3500 HD is the pinnacle of rugged performance and pure power. The 2025 Chevy Silverado 3500 HD continues that tradition with two potent engine options, multiple job-ready features, and modern amenities that enhance the driving experience.

Powerful Engine Options

The 3500 HD lineup offers multiple engine options, with a powerplant built for almost every purpose. The base trim has a 6.6-liter gas-powered V8 that generates 401 horsepower and 464 foot-pounds of torque. When paired with the Allison 10-speed automatic transmission, the 3500 HD’s 4WD drivetrain can tackle almost any task, both on the road and off.

The other available engine option is the powerful 6.6-liter Duramax Turbo-Diesel V8 paired with an Allison 10-speed automatic transmission. This robust powerplant delivers 471 horsepower and 975 foot-pounds of torque. With a 3.42 rear axle ratio, exhaust brake, engine block heater, and an engine run after feature for improved cooling performance, the 3500 HD with the Duramax engine is ready to follow adventure or handle any job.

Built to Work

The pedigree of the 3500 HD begins on the job site, as it has tremendous payload and towing capacities. Even without a trailer, the 3500 has serious cargo-moving capacity. With a standard cargo volume of 69.5 cubic feet in the expansive bed, the base trim WT can carry 4,332 pounds, though it can carry up to 7,442 pounds in its available dual-rear-wheel axle configuration.

The gas version of the 3500 HD has a towing capacity of 14,500 pounds, though the diesel version can tow a maximum of 36,000 pounds. Other thoughtful amenities make towing with the 3500 HD easy, including standard features like Hitch Guidance, a Hitch View camera that shows an up-close view of the hitch, an Electric Parking Brake that shifts when the truck is placed in Park, and a Trailer-Side Blind Zone alert.

Loaded With Connectivity and Safety Features

Like most modern vehicles, the 3500 HD incorporates the latest in technology and infotainment features to keep drivers connected no matter where the job takes them. Some of the infotainment and connectivity amenities found in the 3500 HD include Chevrolet Connected Access, a 6-speaker audio system, a 3.5-inch monochromatic driver information display, Wi-Fi hotspot capability, and a Chevrolet Infotainment 3 System with a 7-inch touchscreen.

There are also numerous standard safety and convenience features, including an HD Rear Vision Camera, Forward Collision Alert, Lane Departure Alert, a Tire Pressure Monitoring System, a Following Distance Indicator, Automatic Emergency Braking, StabiliTrak stability control system, Front Pedestrian Braking, and 6 airbags.
