Engine Options
There are two engine options for the Silverado 2500 HD: a 6.6L V8 gas engine and a 6.6L Duramax Turbo-Diesel engine. The 6.6L V8 is the standard engine, offering 401 horsepower at 5200 rpm and 464 lb.-ft. of torque at 4000 rpm.
The Duramax engine is a great option for drivers with heavy-duty towing needs, as it boasts a maximum towing capacity of 22,070 pounds. This engine is paired with an Allison 10-speed automatic transmission and delivers 470 horsepower at 2800 rpm with 975 lb.-ft. of torque at 1600 rpm.
Exterior Elements
The WT Silverado base trim comes with black bumpers, beltline moldings, mirror caps, and outside vertical trailering mirrors. Paint options include Lakeshore Blue Metallic, Black, Sterling Gray Metallic, Radiant Red Tintcoat, and Summit White. The Silverado’s solar-absorbing glass blocks the sun’s solar rays from heating your cabin, while the locking tailgate can be locked for added security using the same key as your ignition and door.
Lighting on the Silverado 2500 includes halogen headlamps, incandescent taillamps, and cab-mounted cargo area lamps. The CornerStep rear bumper helps secure your footing when stepping up to the truck bed, while the high-strength Durabed hauls any type of material without getting scratched.
Interior Features
Inside the Silverado 2500, there’s a front bench seat that comes with under-seat storage for small cargo. This 40/20/40 split includes 4-way manual controls for the driver and outboard passenger, including Forward/Back and Up/Down. The rear bench seat is a 60/40 split that can be folded up on either side when more cargo space is needed.
The 2500 has a 3.5-inch driver information center that displays your speed, mileage, fuel levels, and engine warnings. The 6-speaker audio system projects music perfectly throughout your truck’s cabin, while the rubberized vinyl floor coverings can be removed for easy cleaning.
